Look After Your Own? Start With Great Yarmouth’s Homeless, Rupert Lowe

As his social media rants about asylum seekers, vulnerable people in Great Yarmouth are left out in the cold.

By Sean Ash

I’ve just visited Great Yarmouth, Rupert Lowe’s constituency, and saw two homeless people sleeping rough outside Sports Direct on the High Street. Yet when I looked at Rupert Lowe’s social media, it was full of him posing by the sea, banging on about asylum seekers and calling for the death penalty.

He says we should look after our own first. Well, here’s a thought, why not start with the people sleeping on your own High Street?

Instead of grandstanding about borders and scapegoating the vulnerable, maybe come back to your constituency and look after the vulnerable people already here. That’s what real leadership would look like.
